Aced it at Avila

The perfect prix fixe. We went to Avila on Saturday night expecting a rushed dinner before an 8:oo curtain. Of course we were late for our 6:oo reservation — but that made zero difference to the food or the service. We had a perfect $40 per person three-course dinner — for me a beet and goat cheese salad, the horseradish crusted salmon, and dessert (which we came back for at the bar after the show!) and we were in and out in an hour and a half. Great solid comfort food (my partner had the steak, natch), breezy genial service, and panna cotta too.
